چکیده

Definition Typical presentation of Crohn disease includes inflammation in the terminal ileum. However, this typical presentation with ileitis is seen only in 70% of cases. 25% of patients present with disease confined only to the colon (Crohn colitis) and in 5% exclusive involvement of the upper gastrointestinal tract is seen. The diagnosis is mostly based on a suggestive clinical course, a typical distribution of affected areas throughout the gastrointestinal tract (“skip lesions”) and a typical type of endoscopic lesions (Fig. 1). Histological characteristics (i.e. granuloma formation) are only seen in a minority of the patients.

Measurement of dynamic surface tension to determine critical micellar concentration in lipophilic silicone surfactants.

Silicone surfactants are becoming increasingly important in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, because of their versatility, low cost, and technological advantages. The present study was designed to measure the critical micellar concentration of three non-ionic silicone surfactants, one water-soluble and two lipid-soluble. We measured surface tension with a technique based on drop geomet...

Studying the concentration dependence of the aggregation number of a micellar model system by SANS.

We present a small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) structural characterization of n-alkyl-PEO polymer micelles in aqueous solution with special focus on the dependence of the micellar aggregation number on increasing concentration. The single micellar properties in the dilute region up to the overlap concentration ϕ* are determined by exploiting the well characterized unimer exchange kinetics o...

Critical Micelle Concentration . A Transition Point for Micellar Size Distribution

A critical concentration is defined which separates two kinds of behavior of the size distribution of micellar aggregates of surfactant molecules. Below this concentration, the size distribution is a monotonic decreasing function of size; above this concentration, the size distribution is a function exhibiting two extrema and the contribution of larger aggregates becomes important. Quantitative...

Investigation of factors affecting aerodynamic performance of nebulized nanoemulsion.

This work aimed to prepare a nanoemulsion preparation containing budesonide and assess its aerodynamic behavior in comparison with suspension of budesonide. In-vitro aerodynamic performance of the corresponding micellar solution (ie. nanoemulsion preparation without oil) was investigated too. Nanoemulsions of almond oil containing budesonide, as a hydrophobic model drug molecule, were prepared ...

Interaction and micellar behavior of aqueous mixtures of surface active ionic liquid and cationic surfactant: experimental and theoretical studies

The interaction between an ionic liquid (1-dodecyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide or IL) and cationic surfactant (dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB)) in aqueous solution has been investigated at various mole fractions and temperature 30 ˚C using experimental and theoretical methods. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) of pure components and their binary mixtures, mixed micellar compositi...
